CARRYING OVER, or CONTINUATION , a stock See also:

exchange See also:term for the operation by which the See also:settlement of a bargain transacted for See also:money or for a given See also:account, may for a See also:consideration (called either a " See also:contango " or a " backwardation ") be postponed from one settling See also:day to another. Such a continuation is See also:equivalent to a See also:sale " for the day " and a repurchase for the succeeding account, or to a See also:purchase " for the day " and a resale for the succeeding account. The See also:price at which such transactions are adjusted is the " making-up " price of the day.
