CHANGOS , a tribe of See also:

South See also:American See also:Indians who appear to have originally inhabited the Peruvian See also:coast. A few of them still live on the coast of See also:Atacama, See also:northern See also:Chile. They are a dwarfish See also:race, never exceeding 5 f t. in height. Their See also:sole occupation is fishing, and in former times they used boats of inflated sealskins, lived in sealskin huts, and slept on heaps of dried seaweed. They are a hospitable and friendly See also:people, and never resisted the whites.
