PELOMYXA , so named by R. Greeff, a genus of Lobose See also:Rhizopoda (q.v.), naked, muitinucleate, with very See also:blunt rounded pseudopodia, formed by eruption (see See also:AMOEBA), often containing See also:peculiar vesicles (glycogen?), and full of a symbiotic bacterium. It inhabits the See also:ooze of decomposing organic See also:matter at the bottom of ponds and lakes.
