Longmont - April 1995 [ 1995 Index | Previous | Next ] To:   The Ixtlan Mailing List Date:   95-05-04 02:29:34 EDT At the Tensegrity Workshop held at Longmont, Colorado on April 21, this is what The Nagual Woman Carol Tiggs said occurred at her first meeting with Don Juan and Carlos Castaneda. Carol Tiggs said she was in Mexico city studying art history. She said she was a spoiled girl who spoke with a pronounced lisp that she thought made her adorable. One night, when walking alone in Alameda Park, she noticed an old man and a young, short, stocky man both staring at her from a short distance away. They looked like "coarse Mexicans" to her. She started to walk fast in order to distance herself from them, but they kept approaching. The young man came up close to her and she heard the old man say, "Don't let her get away. Grab her by the leg if you can." The young man was at a loss as to what to do. He said, "Are you an American? What's your name? How old are you? Do you have a boy friend?" Carol was truly panicking at this point and threatening to scream for the police, when the old man let out a tremendous belch. She found herself frozen to the spot and announcing, "My name is Carol Tiggs. I'm 19 years old and I don't have a boyfriend." The young man (Carlos) "was revolted by my lisp, "she said. She told them where she was staying and they visited her while she was in Mexico. By the time she returned home, a fog had closed in around the memory of those two men. Upon her return, she told her parents about her vague half memories of being accosted by two Mexicans and her inability to remember what happened after that. Her parents thought she had been drugged and molested. They sent her to a psychiatrist. She proceeded with her life as an art history student in college. Carol said that Don Juan used his prodigious belch to fixate her attention for an instant upon him. He made a gesture with his hand and Carol's attention crossed from the right to the left side awareness. She said that in her case, she didn't experience a slap on the shoulder blade like Carlos did. All Don Juan ever had to do to make her enter into "heightened awareness" was fix her attention on his left eye and make a gesture with his hand. All of Carlos' and Carol's interaction in Mexico, after that initial chase, occurred in a state of heightened awareness. Once back in normal "right side awareness", Carlos remembered nothing of the event, and Carol remembered only that part before Don Juan made her cross over with his Nagual's gesture. Years later, Don Juan approached Carol Tiggs again in an entirely different context. She was working in a Government office, as described in _The Eagles Gift_. Carol didn't remember Don Juan at all. He applied stalking and convinced Carol to cross an imaginary boundary. Then Don Juan delivered a blow to her Luminous body and sent her assemblage point to a position of heightened awareness that she didn't emerge from. He revealed "The Rule" to her.
