I actually ran into this page while I was doing research for a paper i was writing on the holocaust. I found out a lot of things that I was not aware of before and I'm glad that I now know. I think people need to become more aware of the Holocaust and other genocides in order to learn from these mistakes and stop them from happening again.

Congratulations on a job well done! Your information and documentation were very thorough. This conscious-raising, thought-provoking subject reminds us that lest we remember, we could be doomed to repeat and relive this BARBARISM! I hope to use your website format as an example for my students. Keep up the good work.

I'm from New Zealand and we are currently studying Hitler. Recently we had a survivor of the Auchwitz concentration camp come and talk to us about his experience during the Holocaust. i did not know how extreme this actually was until he started discussing what happened to him. He also mentioned that some people believe that the Holocaust never happened. I mean how can you believe that when 6 million Jew disappeared so suddenly? What a cruel thing Hitler did and this is definitely the most horrifying act in history.

Thanks for creating this site. I have a particular interest in the stories of the Hungarian holocaust and was glad to come across this font of information. I hope to do continued research in this area.

Though I was aware of the magnitude of atrocities committed in Hungary, the pictures certainly add a chilling realism to the numbers involved. I had the opportunity to visit Dachau many years ago and cannot fathom the mindset of the revisionists. It is my understanding that the Dachau site is the "cleanest" of the concentration/death camps. That being so, I wish for those rewriters of events to visit some of the not-so-clean sites that perhaps they might experience some life-changing moments there.

Thank you,

FM

AS A CHRISTIAN, I FIND IT TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE, TO RECONCILE THE HOLOCAUST, WITH ANY OF GODS TEACHINGS. I THINK THAT ANYONE, WHO DENIES THAT IT HAPPENED, SHOULD GO AND LOOK AT THE CAMPS ,SPEAK TO THE SURVIORS ,THEN TRY AND DENY IT.

THE SUFFERING ENDURED IN THE CAMPS ,BY ALL INMATES,REGARDLESS OF CREED OR COLOUR,IS A LESSON TO THE WHOLE OF HUMANITY,THAT THIS CRIME,SHOULD NOT, AND GOD WILLING, WILL NOT, EVER HAPPEN AGAIN.

GO IN PEACE, AND MAY YOUR GOD GO WITH YOU.

The tragedy of human holocaust occured since the beginning of human civilisation and its root lies on the tragedy of human sacrifice,i.e individual virtues and values are all blindly sacrificed for the ultimate benefit for one government, for one political group, for one individual.

My grandfather was a Latvian Jew. Fortunately for my family, he was brought to Canada before the sickness that occurred in Europe. Although I am not a Jew by faith, I have always felt a connection and I want to learn more about the rest of my grandfathers family, especially those whore were not so fortunate. Can anyone tell me how to go about looking for other family members who can teach me things about my family history.

Finally, when I read things like this and see documentaries and such regarding the Holocaust, it only reenforses my will to be sure to teach my son and all other children to LOVE all people regardless of race, sex, religion, etc. As my grandmother ALWAYS said, God doesn't make junk!

Hello. My name is Rachel I'm a seventeen year old senior in high school.

I am a child survivor of The Holocaust. Born in Wiesbaden, Germany 42 days before Hitler's coming to power, I escaped Germany to Belgium, six weeks before the Kristallnacht, leaving behind my aunt and uncle, who had reared me as foster parents for 4 years(They later were lost in the Shoah). I survived in Belgium Ardennes (near Spa/Verviers) in hiding under the name of Freddy Lejeune, moving with my family every 6 months and not attending school. Recently, to assist my daughter in genealogical research, I encountered some German Youth on the internet. They found my ancestors graves (See www.hausen-ueber-aar.de website under Ortsgechichte) see also article on pg.18, Washington Jewish Week, May 11, 2000. The spontaneous assistance by these young Germans has erased many wounds in my heart. Let us extend tolerance toward our fellow persons.. But, let us never forget! In trust, and with encouragement wishes for your work, Sincerely FredA. Kahn (Freddy Lejeune in WW2) A shorterarticle about my internet encounter will appear in the future in the Aufbau, a bi-weekly publication in New York.

Thank God for projects like this. This site rather makes me feel good, although the subject matter is absolutely horrific.

The reason it makes me feel good? Because it, and others like it absolutely refute everything that David Irving, and his revolting ilk, profess.

It makes me feel good because what David Irving was presenting as fact made my Grandfather out to be a liar. The virdict in court, and the evidence presented on this site, and in Primo Levi's books - and those of others - prove my Grandfather right.

Why so much about my Grandfather? Because his experiences towards the end of the War affected him for the rest of his life. He was in the British Army's medical corps, and was one of the first medics on site at Belsen. He saw what the Nazis had done.

5/24/00 I am an oriental woman married to a half-German man. My mother-in-law who is pure German makes no qualms about expressing her displeasure about our marriage, our children, most particularly how we look. Yet, she married an oriental man, much against her parents wishes. She is so prejudiced, I am so grateful we live so far away. She is seriously suffering from a superiority complex, very much alike Hitler's.

After visiting Dachau on a class trip this past February, the gruesome images have been forever imprinted in my mind. When assigned a paper on any historical event in the past century, I immediately thought of presenting my experiences at Dachau to my fellow classmates. I was deeply impacted by the horrors of Dachau and studying the other concentration camps, and I hope that my classmates get the same feeling from the facts which I present to them. I thank you for this website, which has offered me much insight to add to my paper. Thank you

I mean i can say that I relly hate history, but this is history that can never be forgotten. and thats comeing from a pure gemens mouth. The simple fact that there is such a well made web site on this issue is truly pitiful.

Our history teaches that Napoleon was a brilliant man, and in fact was very charismatic. So was Hitler. However, not many realize the genocide committed by Napoleon during his stay in Egypt. I am glad we do not have pictures to see what happened there; we would only then realize that history does in fact repeat itself over and over and over again.

As a young girl of 11 I read the 'Rise and Fall of Adolf Hitler', since then I have read probably hundreds of books on the Holocaust, and seem to be constantly looking in book stores for Holocaust and related topics. Comeing from New Zealand and being born in the late 60s, you would think that i would be far removed from such Historical interests so far from home, but I have been passionate about the subject for many years now and can never hear or read enough about the Holocaust, the Internet has opened up a whole new and informative information source and sites like yours are to be comeneded. Thank you for this. If someone of my nationality and age can be so absorbed and interested in the Holocaust, then there must be many more like me, and the people who perished and the survivors of the Holocaust, will never be forgotten. I know as my son gets a little older I will be making him fully aware of The HOlocaust and just how Humanity has behaved in the past, present and no doubt future, with the hope of raising a child free from racial predjuces and bigotry. I have only just reached this web site. Look forward to searching it's content. I am extremely intersted in the subject of the Holocaust. It is a part of history that should never be forgotten, for the memory of those lost, so that it may never happen again. I have read a book titled "While Six Million Died" by Arthur D. Morse. I am horrified that Governments of the day could ignore such a horrific act of barbarity, while knowing full well what was being perpetrated in Nazi Germany - shame on them. To the six million. You will always be remembered. - Peter White.

I would have to send out my extreme and humblest compliments on your exceptional creation of this website. I myself stumbled upon the site while looking for Holocaust information on the extermination camp Treblinka. Your site has provided information that has been of great use in the compiling of a report I was assigned to do on Treblinka. Your site also gave me a wide-arrayed and vivid look at the terrible event that was the Holocaust. I'm glad to extend my appreciation for the site not only for plain information and dates, but to actually show people what happened to those who suffered during the Holocaust and to help continue the outspoken legacy of those who underwent such hell. Thank you.

What evil possesses us as human beings, sometimes I fail utterly to comprehend. When people become less than people for reason of race, belief, or any other absurd categorization that we choose to apply, then we truly are abominations.

We must not forget this or any other holocausts that have methodically manifested themselves throughout our histories. As a history teacher, I feel it is an obligation that these photographs from "ancient" history are made widely available, that we show young people who espouse the poison of their elders, the consequences of not only unfettered but directed hatred.

Compassion with people dead before their fathers were born is not easy, and children who happily sport the Hitler salute and draw Swastikas on their desks, need to understand the meaning and consequences of their actions - lest they be the executioners of tomorrow's "untermensch"

Hi. I am doing an essay on the comparison of the Holocaust and today, and if it still matters today. I was also wondering how it would change our world today if everybody knew about it and understood it, if it would change at all. Please email me at [email protected] if you can give me any information on the comparison of the two.

Thank you very much.

In my computer class we had to choose a topic to research, I chose the Holocaust because it's very interesting and I already had to do research in English on righteous Gentiles of the Holocaust. This website has been very helpful for my project. Thank you very much.

I am learning about the holocaust in my world history class and I think this is a very good web sight. This was a really aweful time in history. And I would just like to say that I am sorry to all those people who had to deal with that and that have been hurt for life because of people that were so cruel. And thank you for having this web sight that I can learn so much more about it.

Throughout history, man has been both good and evil to his fellow man. I pray this will be the worst man will have to witness.

I'm a 9th grade German student and I am doing a history project on Racism and Antisemitism during the Nationalsocialism. This site really helped me, you're doing a great job. Thank you. The holocaust was the worst thing that ever happened in Germany, and I am really angry about people who refuse to realize that. But please stop blaming us young people (I was born in 1984) for what our grand- or great-grandparents have done. We cannot change it anymore, I am sure we would if we could. All we can do is to say sorry for our past. I am very sorry.

This site is a commendable endeavor by those who seek to preserve the past as a testament to what should never happen again. To all of those who say that ethnic cleansing is happening in other places around the world, so we should stop talking about the Holocaust - what kind of ridiculous logic is that? What better time to talk about it? To open the eyes of the world to what could be? and why are you blaming the Jews? this is a part of the history of their people, just as slavery is to African Americans, or suffragism to women, or war was to a veteran. Are you going to tell all of them to "stop whining" too? Why on earth would you fault someone for preserving the past??? And to say that the "claims" of the Holocaust are greatly exaggerated is like saying that Americans didn't kill the Native Americans, it's irrefutable, do you think that a whole bunch of Jews got together way back and decided to all go get numbers tatooed on their arms for the heck of it. Do you think those photos are fake, where in the world would they find that many people to starve themselves to emaciation, then all pile on top of each other so that they could have their picture taken to fuel some sort of Jewish plot against the Germans??? I can't believe that the "revisionists" posted their URL on the web site - they are a collective of morons! To those who made this site, I thank you, to those who survived the Shoah, I stand in awe of you, to the "revisionists" I pity you. Thank you Amanda McCrary

The holocaust has always grabbed my attention. I always love to read new books or find web sites about the holocaust. The one thing I like learning about the most is about WWII and the holocaust. I know I can never see or feel what the people went through, but at least I can know about have mean Hitler really was. I cry everytime I think about "what if" I was born in that time and "what if" I had to go through with that. I could bare to be ripped away for my brother and father. Thank you everyone that can teach me something new. And thanks for the wonderful web site. Love always, Michelle

I have read some of the previous comments and felt it my duty to include mine as well. I am only in the 9th grade but I know that human sacrifices is NOT right no matter the race or religion I am of Aryan race and I believe that I would have given up my life beforing joining into such madness. I would rather be dead than to see those things and to everyone who believes this is just shit than I have one thing to say you are escaping a reality or you believe what Hitler did was in fact the right thing how anyone could believe that is way beyond my knowledge but I pity you for that. I came to this sight merely for a definition and I was transfixed and could not get away for hours this sight is excellent and I know my opinion is not much but I believe this is a life lesson and those who view this sight poorly did not dig deep enough to look at everything there was to intake. Hitler was a bad person along with his followers don't make it complicated because it is that simple. And there are people like him in the world so do not hate and love Jesus with all your hearts. Thank you for this web-site it is an eye-opener and i have the greatest hopes that this will reach people in the future as it has me. Whoever has done this I commend you very highly in respects.

Thank you for your thorough documentation on the holocaust during W.W. II. I taught at a high school English Immersion Camp in Poland last year and visited two of their notorious camps. The spirit of gloom was still heavy in these places. I appreciate that you included accountings for nonJews who were also murdered by the Reich. Those who have left comments about Stalin are also correct. Baltic countries suffered under both regimes. And yes, sadly today holocausts are still occuring. People of the world still commit mass murders. Knowing what happened during WWII helps us better understand what is happening globally today. We all need to be aware and supportive of Human Rights Watch Groups.

A site that tells history as it was. How anybody can deny this happening is beyond me. Thankyou.
