In the movie "Mein Kampf" a child was quoted saying "I wish I were a dog because the guards don't beat dogs." I'm sure many of the holocaust victims must have wondered if there was any value in being human knowing firsthand that such an atrocity could be allowed to happen.

After reading a few books on the Third Reich, the Holocaust, and the Warsaw Uprising, I have a permament chill up my spine. I think it is impossible for someone to relate to these events if they were not involved. However, just reading about them makes you wonder how it could have happened.

Mankind must never forget these events. We cannot change the past, but we can influence the future.

I'm not sure how to prevent human beings from thinking as the Nazi leaders did, but it must start at a young age. Parents teach their children, along with friends, etc. Teach acceptance, tolerance, and compassion. We do not need to raise another Adolf Hitler.

I have studied just about everything I can get my hands on about WWII and the Nazi Regime. I have always respected and admired the way the Scholls could stand up to oppression like that. Throughout my studies I have learned mostly about the concentration camps, and the people in them- from homosexuals to politicals to Jews. Facing the threat of death or tortures, it's amazing that the Scholls and Probst were so brave and steadfast.

This is a very helpful website. I am currently a student in Virginia who will be getting a history minor. Two of my classes have consisted of much research on the Holocaust, one being a class just on the Holocaust, and I have, therefore, learned a great deal about this period of tragedy in human history. One thing I have found to be very thought-provoking is reading person memoirs or diaries of the survivors or victims themselves. In any case, continue the good work. Stephanie Gilder

Hitler's Holocaust. When I hear these words the very first reminder is the slaughter of the Jewish Race. It was a terrible time for the Jews, they were slaughtered in the millions, homeless in the millions, and raped in the millions. These actions are highly LEGAL in modern society. The Jewish race has begun a Holocaust on the Palestinians. The Palestians are slaughtered in the thousands, and homeless in the Ten's of Thousands. The Westerners have turned a blind eye to these inhuman crimes by the Jewishe race. These crimes are always commited in the tensions of protesets and justice is never served in these tensions. The Westerners have legalised these brutal killings, due to the fact they have not taken any drastic measures to seek justice to these people (Palestinians), thus, when the words Hitler's Holocaust enters the very cells of my brain, the reminder is a minor disagreement.

NIIEEE WIEDER darf so etwas passieren!!!!!! Shalom an Euch ALLE - Silke

Hi, I am trying to find the history of my deceased mother, who I loved alot. She was a Holocust surviver. Her name was Anneliese Hoffman born May 1929. I do not know the spelling of the camp she was in, Daschau. If you have any information please write to me. She only spoke a few times to me about it, but the saddness in her eyes was to much. Thank you all for having this web site.

I make sure before anyone graduates they know about the Holocaust. It is very important to let every generation know about so it will not happen again. Even though in the past few years it has happened.

There will always be people to deny history because they think that if they deny it, it didn't happen. I had a student with a German mother that grew up in Germany. He was taught it never happened and it was a lie. He got a different view in my History class.

This is my prayer to the survivors, children of the victims, and to everyone who is touched by this terrible event.

Dear Lord,

I come unto your most holy and gracious kindom thanking you for allowing me to live another day. Lord, today I weep I weep because I am sad, I weep because my hear aches Lord my heart aches because it took me so long to understand that the most precious gift on this earth is life and for so many, that has been taken away My heart aches because I so often take my life for granted and there are some who didn't have the chance to take anything for granted I have realized that I am not worth the dust on the shoes of those who have died in the war of right and wrong So often I have asked "why?" It took me a while to get the answer, but it has been given They were too good for this earth and they were needed in their heavenly home So Lord, today, let them know that my heart is weeping, not just of sadness, but of joy because they are safe in their heavenly home Amen.

I believe that one of the most important things that the youth of this world should be instilled with are the lessons that we have learned from this terrible time in history. I myself am a 22 year old college student, and I regret that so much of this history is overlooked by our educators today. We should never be made to forget what happened to those 6 million human beings. The price they bore was heavy, and the legacy that they have left behind should never be forgotten. This site is such a valuable tool to ensuring that no single person forgets what happened during World War II.

I cannot begin to describe how profoundly disturbed I am by those who wish to deny what we all know is fact. It sickens me that there are people who so blatantly spit on the memories of those who nearly perished along with their own in those horrible concentration camps. They should live in shame for what they seek to perpetuate, and I hope that no sensible person shall ever take their words to heart.

In closing, may none of us ever forget the crimes that were committed against the Jewish people during WWII. It was not just a crime against the Jewish community, it was a crime against all humanity. To those who suffered through that horrific ordeal (and to their families) I say, God bless you. Keep your story alive, and never let those memories fade. We owe it to the generations yet to come, to keep close to our hearts the truth and to grow with it. I can only pray that we have learned from the Holocaust, and that in the future no one will ever have to fear what those 6 million people did. We owe that to ourselves.

God bless...

Hittler, a man that the world considers EVIL. Was he truely a evil person or did he just take glorious military actions that GREAT leaders in the past had taken. He wanted world domination, so did Ceasar and Alexander the Great etc. These are the actions that makes him no different to Ceasar and Alexander.

We wouldn't consider these glorious leaders as evil, we say there heroes. But are they? Hittler wanted Germany to be the seperior race, so did other past leaders like Genghis Khan and other past rulers.

I'm in the 10th grade and I have written this comment to say that Hittler was a ordinary leader who wanted world domination. Every nation on planet earth wants world domination. Even America, who tries to conquer the world by its idea of Democracy and isolating any nation who is a threat to there military and industry might. It is only human to want your race(and religion) to be superior from others, I would wish that the Arabs conqured the world, so would every other Arab human.

Hittler, was he truely EVIL? Or did he take actions that past so-called "heroes" would have taken, but in the wrong century?

Comrade Tallis.

I have alway been facinated by the holocaust. I am 21 years old and I am a college student. I beleive that not enough has been taught to children about the horror of the holocaust. Almost everything that I have learned I have learned on my own. So many things about Hitler and the Nazi's upset me, and I am sure they upset others, therefore we tend to shy away from the sunject. That is not the right answer, although we would like to think that we as a human race are above or past the Holocaust we are not. Look at all of the hate and intolerence that we still have today. I believe that if we do not learn from our past we are doomed to repeat it. I pray for all of those families affected by the holocaust.Mostly I pray that in my lifetime or in my childrens'lifetimes we never see such a horrific hatered and maddness as the holocaust again.

Thank You, Liz

When I read what you have to say on the Holocaust and observe how longwinded and convoluted it is and how full of sweeping and judgemental statements I really have to wonder. When I see, in contrast, the businesslike, economic, unemotional and closely reasoned writing of the "Revisionists" (whom you unkindly refer to as "Deniers") it becomes obvious they have real worthwhile matter to get across. They do not need to hide behind padding and character denigration. I would have been terribly surprised to see myself saying this even one month ago but it looks like they have been right all along!

The quality of their argumentation and marshalling of facts is very impressive. To read their material is to experience the pleasure of being taught by people who are enthusiastic about what they do and who know what they are talking about. David Irving is that rare thing in modern liberal arts writing: a genuine scholar.

I have spent the last school semester trying to work out Hitler, and the only think I can come up with is that he was just plain evil. How many people do you think would love the chance to kill him all over again. He took the sissy way out and told his right hand man to kill him AND his new wife. Quite frankly, he deserves to be in hell, yet at the same time, may God have mercy on his soul. Amen.

Thanks for your excellent and informative web site.

In an effort to make Holocaust education materials more accessible, I have published "Holocaust: An End to Innocence" as a free service on the web. The site stresses the connections between the Holocaust and events happening around us in the modern world. You will find it at www.rossel.net/holocaust.htm

You may wish to include this site among your other web links. There is no advertising on my site. I support it entirely through my own funds since I feel that it is important to keep the messages of the Holocaust available. I hope you will find this new publication useful in your endeavors to provide materials on the Holocaust.

Thanks, SR

Well I just wanted to say that Dachau is a very creepy place to go. As you walk along the gravel you start to think about how many people were brutaly killed there. Standing in the crematorium was haunting. I saw pictures of the stoves when they were in use. It gave me shivers. I am 16 years old and I cannot imagine that children like me were held captive at a place like this. They were starved and beaten, and many were seperated from their families. Like you can't begin to imagine the pain that these children suffered.

I was at Dachau almost a year ago and the experience is still photographed in my mind. I sadest part for me was not the crematorium, or the disgusting living quarters, but the fences surrounding the camp. It was not very high at all, and Ii could see in my mind what I am sure the prisoners saw. A tiny wall keeping them from freedom. It was like a meter and a half high, maybe slightly more, and I could hear myself saying how easy it would be to get over it. I am positive that everyone at the camp thought this, and I know that people acted on this. Do you know what happens when a prisoner gets too close to the fence? The are killed! On the spot, no second chances. How easy it would have been to hope that fence. The temptation was so great.

Well I have a million things to say about this topic. But I think that I will stop now. I have pictures and stories, and so many resources that I would be more than happy to share with anybody. E-mail me and I will help you.

Information is the key to life. We need the information to save our lives.

What hitler did was wrong, he was a murderer, and killed innocent people, thats right, SO what the Zionist do, they go and kill innocent palestinians, is that how you relieve yourselves from the thought of what teh nazi's did? even now, in the 21st century, people are being mass murdered, why, because they are muslims, wasn't that the reason Hitler killed the Jews? So is it only me or do you see the past repeating itself?? and the anger here is towards the Zionists, not Jews, same goes with SAddam and Iraqis, killing innocent people won't resove anything. look what happened just today in palestine and decide yourself :http://www.arabia.com/gallery/0, 4966,123,00.html

I just finished reading "man's search for meaning" by Dr. Victor Frankel and I was moved, once again, by the words by which he describes those horrific events. We must never forget, nor let our children forget, such an awful and disgraceful display of so-called "treatment of prisoners."

During this period of the holy days, even though I am not Jewish, but a Catholic, I will pray for your people and the God we both serve. My heart aches for all of you and your lost families.

What did the world do to stop the Genocide of 800,000 Rwandans? It is only worth learning from the past if we are willing to do something to stop this happening again.
