Marcel BRZYSKI, age 11, and his brother
Albert, 9, were arrested during the Vel d'Hiv roundup with their mother,
Chana, and their little brother, Victor, 2. They were all deported on
convoy 22 of August 21, 1942, leaving one
survivor, Rosette, 4. An activist devoted to keeping alive the memory of those
who were deported, Rosette placed a wreath with the President of France,
François Mitterrand, during the commemorative ceremony of the 50th
anniversary of the Vel d'Hiv roundup on July 16, 1992. |
