They were born at Szydlowice, Poland, on March 10, 1925, and January 24, 1924, respectively. They were arrested in Annay (Yonne). Their cousins Maurice and Annette were arrested two years later in Nancy (Meurthe-et-Moselle), where they had been born and where they lived at 20 rue de la Source.
