Sarah, the oldest, age 12, was born in Wielun, Poland; the two others were born in Metz; Jeannette was 8 and Hélène, 9. Having fled from Metz, they were arrested northeast of Bordeaux in Angoulême (Charente), at 21 bis avenue Jules-Ferry.
