This photograph was taken in la Bachellerie (Dordogne), in south-central France before a tragic roundup that would lead to the death of ten of the eleven people shown here:
Second row, standing, from right to left: Ida Schupak, Rubin GOLD, Chana Lichtensztejn, Myrla Gold, Regine Gerst, and Sarah Krieger.
First row: Paul SCHUPAK, born on March 3, 1935, in Strasbourg; Maurice LICHTENSZTEJN on March 15, 1932, in Strasbourg; Colette KRIEGER on May 28, 1938, and Rosa KRIEGER on December 30, 1934, both in Colmar (page 908). Only Benjamin Schupak, in the front, escaped the roundup. All the rest were killed. Rubin Gold was shot outright by the SS; the others were deported on convoy 71 of April 13, 1944.
