The Holocaust History Project.
The Holocaust History Project.

Rita Zohar

Question:

Several weeks ago, I was watching a program called 7th Heaven. They aired an episode in which a woman recounted her experience during the Holocaust. This was a true survivor and not an actress. The original episode aired in 1997. I have been trying to locate a copy of this woman's account or at least more information on her.

Unfortunately, I really don't have much to go on. I do not have her name or any other information. I am still waiting to hear back from the WB network that airs the program.

I was hoping, somehow, that you might be aware of this show and have an idea of where I could find out additional information about this woman's story or if some might have a video copy of the program. I realize this is a long shot but I would appreciate any help you might be able to offer.

Thank you for your time.

The actress in question is Rita Zohar, and she is a Holocaust survivor. A short filmography of hers is available here:

http://us.imdb.com/Name?Zohar,+Rita

Apparently, Ms. Zohar was born in a concentration camp during the war. This suggests that she was in a German-soil camp and not in one of the death camps of Poland.

The story told by Ms. Zohar in the episode of 7th Heaven, by the way, is a true story of a woman named Elisabeth Mann, a survivor of the death camp Auschwitz who lectures frequently on the Holocaust.

Your best bet for a videotape of the program is to contact Warner Bros., as you already have.

Hope this helps.
