Recent heat sensors studies have proven beyond any doubts that it is 1/3 warmer if you crouch near the ground and 1/3 cooler if you stand so it depends of your emergency to warm up or cool off whether you will stand or crouch.

Collect a number of razor blades, place them end to end and then bond them together between 2 pieces of tin.
With the aid of a pair of scissors, you carefully cut minute teeth in them. This special tool worked very well and would cut through steel bars 20mm thick.
