The body of South African citizen, Nick Rowe, who died during the terror attack on the World Trade Centre in New York on 11 September, arrived in Cape Town on Friday night.
South African Killed in World Trade Center
Rowe, 29, was making a presentation to employees of Canter Fitzgerald at a restaurant on the 106th Floor when a hijacked passenger plane slammed into the Trade Centre. He worked for UME Voice, a United States company in New York.
His body was found under the rubble of the World Trade Centre nine days ago.
Foreign Affairs spokesman Ronnie Mamoepa confirmed that Rowe's father had accompanied his son's body from New York to South Africa.
South African Airways arranged the return of the corpse at no cost.
Foreign Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, who formed a task team to help South Africans establish whether any of their relatives were killed or injured in the terror attacks, sent her condolences to Rowe's family.
She said later that it appears no other South Africans had died in the tragedy.
