The Brother's Mean Wife(From Qatar) Once there lived a man by the name of Fulan. He was a very rich merchant and lived in a palace with his wife and sister. Fulan's wife was very mean, and she hated Fulan's sister, Nura. One day Fulan went to visit and old friend of his, a sheik. The sheik had a son and wanted to see him married before he died. Fulan proposed to wed Nura to the sheik's son, Jassim. So Fulan returned home early to tell his sister the news. When Fulan's wife heard of Fulan's intent to wed his sister she became very mad. She decided to get rid of Nura. After a couple of days Fulan was going to leave on a trip. After a week he returned, but just as he was about to enter his palace Fulan's wife hit herself on the head and became unconscious. When Fulan asked her what happened she said that Nura hit her on the head. Fulan was mad, he was so mad that he ordered his sister killed the next morning. That night Nura's old nanny disguised Nura as a servant, and they both escaped. The next day the sheik's son came to see Fulan about his sister, but Fulan told him of what happened and so the sheik's son left. On his way back he saw Nura and her nanny and took pity on them and hired them to work for him. Nura did not tell the sheik's son who she was. To hide her identity she covered her face in soot. One day Nura was washing some windows when she fell and her bucket of water fell on her face and washed it. The sheik's son happened to be watching and he recognized her. He decided to trick her into admitting who she was. He went up to her and said," A man by the name of Fulan betrayed me, I shall go kill him." When Nura heard this she became scared, she cried out," No. No, don't kill my brother!" The shiek's son smiled and laughed. Then he went to Fulan's palace with Nura. Nura told her brother what happened and he threw out his wife. The sheik's son married Nura and they lived happily ever after.
