Ludwig van Beethoven was probably born on December 16, 1770, a day before being baptised in Bonn Germany. He died March 26, 1827. In his youth he moved to Vienna and studied with Joseph Haydn, earning a great reputation as a concert pianist. He started to go deaf in his twenties, but even after going completely deaf he continued to compose, perform and conduct. His music is still performed and listened to by music lovers the world over.
