Ben Lyon was a motion picture actor during the 1920's and early 1930's and on June 30, 1930 married motion picture actress Bebe Daniels. In 1932, the same year that Charles Lindbergh's son was kidnapped and killed, there was an attempt to kidnap their young daughter Barbara, the Lyons decided to move to London, England, where they thought their family would be safe from celebrity kidnappings. They found fame in England and never returned to America, and their radio program, Life with the Lyons led to a BBC television show and both shows featured their real-life children in episodes written mostly by Bebe Daniels, Mrs. Lyon. When asked about moving back to America in later years they responded that after living through the World War II bombings of London they felt that Britain was 'Home' for them and would always be their home.
