Cops and Crimes - A Case for Doctor morelle
<<< Back to the Cops and Crimes Index
In a 1942 World War II air raid with bombs dropping around him, London actor and novelist Ernest Dudley created the character of Doctor Morelle, a criminal psychologist, who along with his sometimes witless secretary Miss Frayle solves crimes that stump the police. The show became a BBC radio hit from 1942 - 1948. In 1957 the series was renewed with British actor Cecil Parker in the part of irritable and sarcastic Doctor Morelle, and Sheila Sim playing the part of his long-suffering secretary.
