Raymond Burr as Captain Lee Quince

Fort Laramie was broadcast over the CBS radio network every Sunday afternoon at 5:30pm from January through October, and starred Canadian born actor Raymond Burr as Cavalry Captain Lee Quince. Supporting regulars included Vic Perrin as Sgt. Gorse, Harry Bartell as Lt. Seiberts and Jack Moyles as Major Daggett. In October, while rehearsing for the final episodes, Raymond Burr entered the studio and proclaimed that they would all be rich. He had just auditioned for the part of the District Attorney on a new television show named "Perry Mason," and told the cast members that when he got the part he would convince the producer to hire the Fort Laramie regulars as well. He turned out to be wrong on both counts . . . Raymond Burr was selected to be the star of Perry Mason instead of the District Attorney, and he wasn't able to get regular parts for any of the Fort Laramie cast members.
