Acid Hypoxia:

An acidic pH of the tissues with resulting lack of available oxygen. [the ultimate causative factor in pathology according to William H. Philpott MD]

Allergies and chronic degenerative diseases [cancer, diabetes, arthritis, cardio-vascular disease [CVD]],

Share a number opf common factors, regardless of the specific condition. By addressing these underlying factors with specific natural therapies, these scourges can be eliminated.

1-Acid pH:

Injuries and allergies cause high acidity and a positive electro-magnetic spin. When the body’s pH remains acidic long term acidosis results. Acidosis is a control factor in the process of degenerative diseases. Chronic degenerative diseases such as cancer, arthritis, Type-2 diabetes, CVD are acute acidic reactions extended into chronic acidosis.

2-Hypoxia:

There is always an oxygen deficiency [hypoxia]  when acidity is present because molecular oxygen cannot remain free in an acid medium. Since oxygen is necessary for energy production, hypoxia is central to the progress of the disease process.

3-Free Radicals:

Free radicals [FR’s] are highly reactive electrons. They have an un-paired electron in an atomic or molecular orbit instead of stable paired electrons. Examples are: hydroxyl radical-OH-, superoxide anion readical O3, nitric oxide-NO, hydrogen peroxide-H2O2.

The body normally produces ROTS [reactive oxygen toxic species] and FR’s in its daily metabolic processes. Far more are produced in pathological states. FR’s and ROTS are involved in the generation of oxidative damage to cells, DNA, mitochondria and cell membranes.

Anto-oxidants are natural substances that protect biological systems from the harmful effects of excessive oxidation. Excess oxidation stress may induce:

  a-arthritis and inflammatory diseases

  b-atherosclerosis

  c-cancer

  d-cataracts

  e-emphysema

  f-Multiple sclerosis

  g-Parkinsons disease

  h-premature aging

  i-viral infections-AIDS

Anti-Oxidants:

1-Normal body defense mechanisms: enzymes and free radical scavengers

2-Nutrient anti-oxidants:

  a-Vitamins A-C-D-E

  b-carotenoids

c-flavonoids-berries, apples, citrus [including skins], broccoli, cayenne, onions, green tea

  d-catechins-green tea, berries

e-lignans-linseed fibre, legumes, sesame seeds [tahini]

3-Specific Herbal Anti-Oxidants:

a-Turmeric:

1- technical terms, the active constituents of turmeric also called Curcuma longa are known as curcuminoids.

2-Virtually all of the benefits derived from curcuminoids stem from their varied antioxidant activities. Curcumin extracts have been found to have the following antioxidant interactions:

a-They scavenge or neutralize free radicals.

b-They interact with the oxidative cascade and prevent its outcome.

c-They quench singlet oxygen, thus making it less available for oxidative reactions.

d-They are capable of inhibiting oxidative enzymes like cytochrome P-450.

e-They chelate and thus disarm the oxidative properties of metals such as iron which can contribute to both oxidative damage and free radical formation.

f-Because curcuminoids act through both intervention and preventative means they are accordingly among the most potent of the known antioxidants.

3-Anti-inflammatory Action
Perhaps turmeric's most well known and most obvious benefit is its anti-inflammatory action. In fact, turmeric has been found to equal, and in many cases exceed, the benefits associated with both cortisone and phenylbutazone treatment

c-Rosemary

In todays aromatherapy Rosemary is for emotions, it is used to energize and stimulate the central nervous system. It has an effect of clearing the head, to provide mental stability. It helps in memory retained, and stimulating the memory.

Rosemary essential oil is used to alleviate headaches and migraines, and as a general pain reliever for muscles. It can be used as a hear tonic to help normalize blood pressure. It is also used in vaporizer to clear the head and chest and to get rid of chest infections.

Rosemary has impressive healing properties and is also an excellent nerve tonic. A few drops of the essential oil in the bath restores energy levels after a period of prolonged stress. It can also be used in a burner to help concentration. Rosemary has always been associated with the mind and improving the memory. Dab some oil onto wrist bands or a hairband to boost mental power. Studies have shown that as well as being a stimulant to the nervous system, rosemary essential oil is primarily antiseptic and anti-bacterial. The warming and stimulating effects of rosemary help clear phlegm from the head and chest which is why it has traditionally been used as a remedy for upper respiratory ailments such as acute bronchitis, catarrh and colds. For such complaints it can be used in steam inhalations, diluted in a carrier oil and applied as a chest rub or simply added to the bath. People with bad circulation can benefit greatly from it. It is also good as a rinse for dark hair as it increases shine and helps with dandruff.

 d-Hawthorn:

By the early 1800's, American physicians recognized the herb's medicinal properties and began using it to treat circulatory disorders and respiratory illnesses. Considered a "cardiotonic" herb, the flowers and berries of the hawthorn plant have been used in traditional medicine to treat irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, chest pain, hardening of the arteries, and congestive heart failure.

Hawthorn has numerous beneficial actions on the heart and blood vessels. It improves coronary artery blood flow and the contractions of the heart muscle. Also, it mildly inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and reduces production of the potent blood vessel-constricting substance angiotensin II. This reduces resistance in arteries and improves extremity circulation. The bioflavonoids in hawthorn are potent antioxidants. Hawthorn extracts mildly lower high blood pressure in some individuals

e-Green tea:

Green tea and extract is a bioflavonoid-rich, potent source of polyphenols, a class of bioflavonoids, that are potent anti-oxidants which quench ‘free radicals.’

Green tea may prevent cancer:

1-it neutralizes cancer causing agents

2-protects cells from mutation by cancer causing agents

3-it protects from free radical damage [together with ginger, turmeric, ginkgo, rosemary,]

4-protects cells from ionizing radiation [sun, x-rays, fall-out]

Green tea also has potent protection against cardio-vascular diseases

1-it inhibits abnormal blood clotting, reduces platelet aggregation

2-reduces high blood cholesterol

3-reduces high blood pressure by inhibition of angiotensis-converting enzyme

4-inhibits oxidation of LDL cholesterol in the arterial wall

Green tea also:

1-reduces blood glucose levels

2-inhibits viruses and bacteria, including those that cause cavities

3-acts as a general anti-oxidant

4-gout: polyphenols in green tea suppress the production of a uremic toxin...methylguanidine

f-Citrus:

Citrus supply Vitamin C, folic acid, potassium, pectin and more than 60 flavonoids that have anti-inflammatory and anti-tumopur activity, they  inhibit blood clots and have strong anti-oxidant activity. Liminoids in citrus possess the ability to inhibit tumour formation by stimulating the enzymes glutathione-S-transferase. [the outstanding finding in cancer is the almost complete lack of glutathione].

Orange and lemon oil [in skin] contains substantial amounts of limonene, a terpene that possesses anti-cancer activity [especially protective against breast cancer

Herb Teas:

The above herbs maybe with hibiscus, lemon balm and mint, make a highly delicious and potent anti-oxidant drink. In addition, most of these herbs may be readily grown in the garden or easily sourced.

Serve with lemon juice and honey, nothing better!!

Reversing acid hypoxia:

The balance of this thesis deals with reversing acid hypoxia. Beginning with the suggested herb teas, magnet therapy, nutrition, detoxification, hormonal balancing, blood sugar normalization all have a place in this protocol.

The end of the thesis will summarize the points and make specific suggestions.
