My Trepidations
It is with some trepidation that I create this section. For at least two reasons: First, it is best that one work with a competent health professional in the diagnosis and treatment of his/her condition. However, the old days of people unquestionably following the doctor's advice are gone, whether the doctor is an orthodox medical doctor, an unorthodox medical doctor, a nurse, an acupuncturist, a chiropractor, a nutritionist, an herbalist, or whatever type of allied health professional. I believe that it is for the best that now everyone must take responsibility for the decision of what treatments will be administered and taken. That means being informed. What I'm trying to do here is to inform you about what I know and what I've experienced, so that perhaps this will help you make your own intelligent decisions of how to proceed in the healing process.
Although medical doctors are generally not educated in the material on this Web Site, they are still the best at diagnosis of diseases. Sometimes the treatment depends upon the diagnosis, and sometimes it doesn't. Of course, sometimes a condition may be serious, and orthodox medical treatment may be required. However, the oft-stated fear that the recommendation of natural treatments might cause harm by preventing the use of orthodox treatments is relatively bogus. While I imagine this happens (although I've rarely seen it), I'm sure the actual numbers are far less than the cases where orthodox physicians miss the diagnosis and thus aren't able to give the appropriate treatment! I don't mean this as an indictment of medical doctors. The body is a mystery in health and illness, and few live patients meet the criteria laid out in textbooks! Being any kind of doctor is not easy!
Disclaimer!: There are no simple, universal answers. Life is very complex, multi-dimensional, and marked by chaos (in the sense of the new field of non-linear dynamical systems, which includes the body in both health and disease). What works for some people may not work for you. What works for you may not work for others. What worked for you last year may not work this year. Still, there are many reported natural healing methods, and when they are non-toxic, I think they are worth a try. And, of course, it is always best (but not always possible) to be working closely with a health professional who is educated in the natural approaches.

Introduction
In this section, I'm going to look at specific disease conditions, for which there are numerous possible approaches, including.
- Nutritional, regarding diet -- what foods you eat, what foods you don't eat, and when to consider food allergies or intolerance, (which turns out to be quite often).
- Nutritional, regarding supplements
- Intravenous or Intramuscular Nutrients -- these can be very effective in certain situations, either because the patient doesn't absorb the nutrients or because a much higher blood level of the nutrient is necessary to force it into the cells where they are needed.
- Herbal -- I'll just be making a few occasional suggestions at first. There are many, many herbs for many, many purposes. Those who know only western medicine believe that herbs have no real powers. This is definitely not true! Hopefully, later on I'll be able to add to herbal suggestions
- Homeopathy -- a controversial system, it can be very effective. It is best to work closely with a skilled homeopathic doctor, but I'll make occasional suggestions.
- Medical -- Sometimes, an orthodox medical treatment works very well, when natural treatments may not work so well. In such cases, I'll include information here.
- Energy -- This can include natural energy such as from hands-on healing like Resonance Balancing, or other forms of energy such as the use of electrical stimulation (some variation of trans-cutaneous electrical nerve stimulation or TENS), magnets, sound, and light/color. Acupuncture is an energy treatment.
- Behavior -- This includes things you should do,and perhaps a few don'ts.
- Consciousness -- In the long run, one's own individual power of consciousness has the greatest healing potential. Health is the natural vibratory pattern of the body (e.g. the bodymindspirit), of all the atoms and molecules in the body which are vibrating in the state of health. Consciousness has the ability to cause the vibratory patterns of the body to relax into the vibration of health, no matter what the disease or how advanced. Consciousness does this all the time -- one aspect of this is the placebo effect. This can be consciously activated in various ways. All the other methods support the body to heal itself. In the case of specific diseases, I won't mention much about consciousness, but remember, this should be at the top of your own personal list.

The Diseases And Conditions
Arthritis, Osteoarthritis
- General Comments: This painful condition is usually successfully treatable, and sometimes curable. It can improve dramatically with the following protocol:
- Supplements: Most important is Niacinamide (vitamin B3) -- 400mg time released, 3 tabs twice daily. It usually takes 21 days to show an effect, and the benefits only continue while you continue to take it. Effects can be very dramatic. Over longer periods of time, joint mobility can improve significantly. This can reverse the need for surgery.
Also try N-acetyl-glucosamine or glucosamine sulfate, 250 mg twice daily. Shark or bovine cartilidge. Vitamin E, 400 mg daily. Flax seed oil, 1-2 tablespoon daily.
- Energy: Resonance Balancing often works wonders, especially if the condition is not too late stage.
- Diet: If the osteoarthritis also has inflammation with it, and if you are a bit young for degenerative arthritis, it may be caused by eating "night shade" vegetables including tomotoes, potatos, eggplant, green peppers. Tobacco is also a night shade plant. Go off all these night shades totally, (which can be difficult, because these are sometimes in processed foods where you might not expect them -- read all the labels of everything you eat) for three months. If you are sensitive to night shades, you should be feeling much better. Then abruptly eat a lot of them. You'll know by the return of symptoms if you aare night shade sensitive.

Arthritis, Rheumatoid
- General Comments: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is more difficult to treat successfully than osteoarthritis. This means you may have to work harder to find the right combination of treatments that work. Rheumatoid arthritis is considered an auto-immune disease, which means that the body's immune system if fighting against itself. Treatments mentioned here also apply for other types of auto-immune inflammatory arthritis, such as psoriatic arthritis and lupus.
- Diet: Food allergies often play a large role in RA. Research has shown that eating a lot of saturated fats can worsen the disease.
- Supplements:
- copper -- a double blind study showed significant benefical effects using 4-10 mg/day:
- vitamin K 100mg three times a day reduces inflammation
- flax seed oil -- 2 tablespoons daily
- Betaine Hydrochloride (HCl) with pepsin -- many with RA are low in digestive HCl., 2 with light meals, 4 with larger meals.
- Injectible: Super Oxide Dismutase injectible works better than oral (but you can try oral)
- Herbal: Ginger (capsules or fresh) Give this one a try!
- Miscallaneous. Here is a treatment protocol, created under the theory that RA is caused by a parasite infection: Flagyl, 2 grams in 2 days, repeated weekly for 6 weeks. According to Drs. Wright and Gaby, they have been getting about a 30-40% success rate, in which the condition is totally knocked out! They warn to watch out for a severe herksheimer reaction, in which there can be intense flu-like symptoms beginning an hour or so after taking the pills. This reaction, which is usally short lived but can last a few days, is the toxic effect of the die-off of all the organisms. For more information on this treatment, call the Rheumatoid Disease Foundation in Franklin, Tennessee.

Atherosclerosis (Coronary Artery Disease)
- General Comments: Of the life-threatening illnesses, this is probably the easiest to treat naturally. Of course, it is complex, and if you are ill, you need to be under the care of competent doctors, preferably a member or sympathizer of the American College For the Advancement of Medicine (ACAM) in Laguna Hills, California. Although work by Dean Ornish, M.D., shows that a combination of life-style changes can reverse heart disease, I think that adding intravenous therapies discussed below makes a huge difference in speeding up the process.
- Diet: Low fat or very low fat (but getting lecithin and flax seed oil as supplements), high fiber, low sugar (but no sugar substitutes either).
- Supplements:
- vitamin C -- bowel tolerance
- vitamin E -- 800 - 1200 units daily
- beta-carotene -- 25,000 units daily, preferably from natural greens such as spirulina, chlorella, algae, wheat grass, etc. My favorite is Green Magic
- folic acid -- 800 mcg daily, especially if you have high homocysteine levels, which are as damaging to arteries as is high cholesterol. Higher doses may be of value, but are not easy to find.
- L-lysine -- 2000mg daily on an empty stomach, helps protect the arteries against bad fats, like teflon.
- L-proline -- 1000gm daily on an empty stomach, works with L-lysine.
- Acetyl-L-carnitine 2000mg daily, helps the heart work more efficiently
- Coenzyme Q-10 -- 150 to 300 mg daily, helps give more energy to the heart.
- Proanthocyanidan (pycnogenol or grape seed extract) -- 150mg daily
- B-complex -- 50mg each
- Magnesium -- 1 gram daily
- Potassium-Magnesium Aspartate -- 4 caplets daily
- Intravenous: Chelation Therapy or Megadose Vitamin C Cocktail Infusions
- Herbal: Hawthorne Berry, Cayenne, Ginko, Garlic
- Behavior: Learn to relax. Learn to dissolve your anger or let go of it (Anger is shown to be terrible for the heart). Stop smoking. Exercise regularly.

Bursitis
- Intramuscular: repeated injections of vitamin B-12 (IM) 1000mcg daily until the pain goes away, then once weekly.
- Energy: -- Resonance Balancing gives dramatic results frequently.

The Common Cold
- General Comments: Whatever treatment you try for the common cold, it will have a far better chance of working if you start it at the very beginning that you notice symptoms. Once the illness is entrenched, it is more difficult, but not impossible, to get rid of it.
- Diet: Discontinue eating mucous-producing foods such as dairy until cold is over.
- Supplements: Again, they work best if taken at the very beginning. I suggest taking 1000mg vitamin C every hour, preferably with grape seed extract or pycnogenol (plus herbs mentioned below). Orally, if you take more "C" than that, the body loses the ability to absorb it. If your stomach starts to become upset, take a break from the Vitamin C for a while (a few hours). Also, I suggest taking 25mg zinc (preferably as a lozenge two or three times daily.
- Intravenous: Vitamin C infusions (with 25 grams of C, with 8 to 10 other nutrients) usually works at the beginning to knock it out. If you don't get it at the beginning, it sometimes works if you do it two or three days in a row.
- Herbal: Echinacea with golden seal, taken by mouth with Vitamin C.
- Homeopathic: Off-the-shelf remedies exist. Sometimes they work, sometimes not.
- Energy: I've had colds go away following acupuncture. Resonance Balancing usually helps the symptoms for some hours. Only occasionally will Resonance Balancing knock out a cold. Resonance Balancing usually cures laryngitis associated with colds or with over-use -- at least, I'm seven for seven on that one! (Did you hear that, Bill or Hillary?)
- Miscellaneous: Colloidal silver can help during a cold. I've had dramatic success giving it IV with vitamin C.

Herpes Simplex
- General Comments Herpes simplex virus causes both cold sores on the mouth and sores on the genitals, as well as on the upper parts of the lower extremeties. Following an "outbreak" or eruption of sores, the virus journeys up the nerve cells. It then 'hides" or camps out in nerve plexes, until it feels like journeying back down the nerve path to the skin, for another eruption. Many people harbor the virus in their bodies, but rarely or never get outbreaks. Some people get occasional outbreaks, and others get frequent outbreaks. The following suggestions can help decrease the number and severity of outbreaks.
- Diet In recurrent herpes, food intolerance may play a role. By eliminating this problem, there can be a major reduction of frequncy.
- Supplements
- L-Lysine 1500mg twice or thrice daily between meals (lower doses are far less likely to work.
- Lithium (stops replication of viral capsule). Lithium carbonate is available by only prescription, and not usually for this purpose. If you can find lithium orotate in your health food store, try that, one or two per day. It has much less lithium, but the orotate takes it where it needs to go.
- Iodine (a few drops a day) sski (saturated solution of potassium iodide)
- Zinc, 30 mg three times daily
- Monolaurine capsules are worth a try
- Colloidal Silver, one teaspoon, three times a day
- Herbs
- Glyzerhyzin from Licorice (use Licorice capsules)
- Aloe Vera research from Carrington Labs has shown immune stimulation which is beneficial against herpes. The research actually shows that lower amounts of zovirax, the medical treatment against herpes, are necessary to do the job. Not all aloes are equal, however. My favorite, at this time, is Caraloe, from Carrington. The mucopolysaccharide is the active ingredient.
- Pau D'Arco may be benefical
- Injections
- Adenosine monophosphate injections, 100 mg every other day, can be beneficial against herpes, can be given with B-12. (Give the AMP slowly, as it can cause chest pain, which it is of no danger, other than it hurts and can be frightening.)
- A series of Megadose C infusions may strenthen the immune system, and lower the incident rate.
- Consciousness Stress reduction can sometimes lower the incidence of recurrent herpes.
- Medical Treatment Zovirax (acyclovir) is the drug prescribed by doctors which can be effective against herpes. As prevention against recurrent herpes, anywhere from one to four a day can be effective -- you just have to see what works for you.
- Other Alternatives As A Last Resort
- Ozone Therapy (more on this in the near future, for now, check The Blade)
- Take out mercury silver/amalgam fillings
- Carnivora, an extract of the venous fly trap, from Germany

Silicone breast syndrome
- General Comments: Reading the newspapers and medical journals, it appears that many people doubt whether this syndrome exists. Occasionally I meet a woman who is not sure whether her symptoms are caused by her breast implants, but most of the women affected by it have no doubt at all! I have seen many cases of it, and there are corroborating laboratory data which the doubters seem to ignore.
- Intravenous: Most of the patients with this condition have responded well to the Megadose Vitamin C Infusions. Many respond dramatically.
- Homeopathic: There are preparations for combatting allergic reactions. These can help both the internal response to silicone and the additional reaction to other allergans in the environment which plague individuals with this condition.
- Behavior: Of course, it is important to get the silicone implants out of the body, but I've seen excellent results with the Mega-dose C Infusions even while the silicone was still in (either a lot of leakage from the bags or the implants were the original versions, silicone simply injected into the breast, not in a bag).

Cancer
While there haven't been any magic bullets for cancer, it does seem that Natural Medicine has non-toxic treatments that work as well as or better than the toxic treatments of Orthodox Medicine (although of course, Orthodox Medicine does have some definite success stories), without the toxicity. Of course, A LOT MORE research is necessary. Who is going to fund it, especially when there is no profit in it, as the therapies are not, for the most part, patentable? I'll be putting up a more complete cancer section here when I can.
