hexagonal pseudomorph after aragonite-1
This apparently hexagonal plate originally
started out as a complex twinning of
aragonite crystals, but has since been
converted to calcite. The re-entrant angles
on some of the hexagonal sides
show that the original crystal was really not a
hexagonal mineral.
