bauxite-2
Bauxite is Al2O3.2H2O
Bauxite is a hydrous aluminum oxide and is the chief ore of aluminum.  The most
distinguishing feature of bauxite is its texture.  Bauxite is made up of many small
spheres or nodules glued together; this texture is referred to as oolitic or pisolitic.
The small spherules are about one-eighth inch.  Bauxite can be white, cream, gray,
yellow, or reddish brown depending upon iron content.
