chrysocolla breccia-1
Morenci pit, Arizona
A breccia is a shattered rock, often found
along a fault zone, where the rock
fragments have been cemented together by a
mineral deposited from a solution
moving along the fault. In this example
the cementing material is chrysocolla, a
hydrous copper silicate.
