Talc is is one of
the softest of all minerals and holds the place of 1 on Mohs scale
of hardness.
It is metamorphic mineral with a composition of hydrous magnesium
silicate.
Talc has a pearly luster and a soapy feeling. When ground to a fine powder
and
scented with perfume, it becomes talcum powder.
