0.5. Typographical Conventions
The following typographical conventions are used in this book:
- Italic

Used for filenames, Unix command names, URLs, daemons, emphasis, and
the first use of terms where defined
- Constant width

Used for function and method names and their arguments, and to show
literal code in text
- Constant width italic

Used to identify replaceable values
- Constant width bold

Used to show default values in syntax lines and to indicate user input
