Assumptions This Book Makes

This book is focused on .NET Framework security programming; we assume no prior exposure to the .NET security classes, but expect the reader to have basic experience as a competent C# or Visual Basic .NET programmer.

In Part IV of this book, we discuss the interaction of .NET application security with features and security capabilities of the Windows platform and other external services. In these chapters, we expect the reader to be familiar with the external technologies, and focus only on the aspect of security programming.
