A Bernoulli disk cartridge is a removable cartridge that fits into a Bernoulli drive. The disk cartridge is approximately 5 1/4 inches square. It is a flexible disk enclosed in a hard case that is inserted into a drive, which is larger, but similar to a 3 1/2 inch disk drive.
Modern Bernoulli cartridges can hold 35MB, 65MB, 105MB, or 150MB of data.
The Bernoulli drives are available on internal or external versions. A Bernoulli drive rotates the disk at 3600 RPM, and has an average seek time of 18 ms (milliseconds).
In actually, the ZIP and JAZ drives discussed later are refinements of the Bernoulli technology.
