Buses Review Exercises

  • If you have a PCI Local Bus and an integrated ISA bus, the ISA bus must interface to and be controlled by the

    1. No. All buses eventually interface with the system bus to the CPU.

    2. Correct! The PCI Local Bus Controller is the interface between the system bus at a higher speed to the slower speed ISA bus.

    3. No. However, a VESA Local Bus Controller does interface with a system bus and controls the ISA interface to the system bus. But the question said you had a PCI bus.

    4. No. You may think of the Master Bus Controller as the interface, but I don't.
