EDO RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY (RAM)

EDO is the acronym for Extended Data Out. EDO is the newest DRAM chip technology as of 1996/1997. Notice I said DRAM not SRAM. EDO is faster than the previous DRAM, including the Fast Page Mode (FPM) by approximately 10-15%.

EDO cannot just be inserted into any PC and expect improved performance. For it to function properly, you need a computer system designed to use EDO memory. You need a system such as Intel's Triton Chip set.

EDO memory chips are placed in your normal RAM slots.
