Super-Pipelining Concepts

After the initial years of the PC (let's say 1980-1986), the search for more efficient PCs, capable of greater processing power, speed, and felexibility went into high gear.

    SUPERPIPELINING:

The term 'superpipelining' was first introduced in 1988. It exploits the fact that many pipeline stages perform tasks that require less than 1/2 of a clock cycle.

The internal clock will be "doubled" to allow performance of two tasks in one external clock cycle.

A "MIPS R4000" processor uses this technique. Still have to write this!!!!
