GREENS SPLIT VOTE HELPS BILDERBERGER Schroeder to send troops to
Afghanistan
and Green's spokesman (sorry, person) explains: ``We're trying
to make it
clear by splitting our votes that we are for one thing but
against the
other.''
Isn't it great to be governed by such intellectual giants? I
wonder if he
knows Richard Warman?
German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder [Bilderberg Group] won a
vote of
confidence in the lower house of parliament on Friday to ensure
a narrow
majority that approves a German deployment in the "war on
terrorism".
Schroeder will now deploy 3,900 troops to the campaign. The
governing
coalition needed a majority in the 666 [oh yes?]-seat
legislature and thus
334 votes to survive.
The alliance of Schroeder's Social
Democrats and the
Green party has 341 seats.
Schroeder said: ``That was important for me because it's clear
that when
things get serious, this coalition stands together.''
``Today's decision on the military deployment will certainly be
a turning
point: for the first time, soldiers will be readied for armed
deployment
outside the NATO region."
His Social Democrats, except for one, supported him and only
four Greens (out
of eight who said they would oppose the military deployment)
voted against
the plans.
``We all believe that the war in Afghanistan is wrong,'' said
the Greens' Hans-Christian Stroebele.
``We're trying to make it clear by splitting our votes that we
are for one
thing but against the other.''
Yes, dear, now go away to a quiet, darkened room, and sip some
sweet tea.
You'll soon be better.
