    Coughwort (3 parts)
    Plantain (3 parts)
    Sage (3 parts)
    Silver Mullein (1 part)
    Steep 2 to 4 heaping tsp. of the mixture in 1 cup of boiling water, let it stand for 15 minutes, strain and add 2 tbsp. of honey. Take 1 to 2 tbsp. every hour.

    CATARRAHAL ASTHMA, CHRONIC BRONCHITIS
    Elecampane root
    Steep 1 to 2 tbsp. of ground root in 1 cup boiling water. When cool, drink 1 to 2 tbsp. every hour.

    CYSTITIS & IRRITATION OF THE MUCUS LINING OF THE URINARY PASSAGES
    Linden flower
    Elder flowers
    St. Johns Wort
    German Chamomile flowers
    Blackberry leaves
    Mix in equal parts. Steep 2 to 4 heaping tsp. of mixture in 1 cup of boiling water, allow to cool, strain and drink 1 cupful 3 times per day, 30 minutes before meals.

    BLOOD PURIFYING TEA
    Dandelion root (4 parts)
    Chicory root (4 parts)
    Witch grass root (4 parts)
    Fennel seed (1 part)
    Steep 1 or 2 tbsp. mixture in 1 cup boiling water, boil for 1 minute, let cool, strain. Take 2 tbsp. 30 minutes after meals.

    FOR NEURITIS, MIGRAINES, ETC.
    St. Johns Wort (1 oz.)
    Primrose flower (1 oz.)
    Blessed thistle (1 oz.)
    Lavender flowers (1 oz.)
    Sweet balm leaves (1 oz.)
    Peppermint leaves (2 oz.)
    Fragran valerian root (2 oz.)
    Steep 2 or 3 heaping tsp. of the mixture in 1 cup boiling water; cover with saucer and when cool, strain and drink 3 cupfuls every day. Either 1/2 hour before or after meals.

    FOR GOUT, MUSCULAR RHEUMATISM
    Birch leaves (3 oz.)
    Horsetail grass (2 oz.)
    Restharrow (1 oz.)
    Garden rue (1 oz.)
    Juniper berries (1 oz.)
    Yarrow (1 oz.)
    Steep 1 or 2 heaping tsp. in 1 cup boiling water for 10 minutes, allow to cool a little, strain and drink while still warm, 1 cup 30 minutes before or after each meal.

    This should have a diet with the treatment. Avoid meats, fish, sweets, pastries and alcoholic beverages. Eat fresh green vegetables and fruits, eat only sparingly of breads, eggs, cheese. Avoid as much as possible any drinks containing sugar. (If sweets are desired, eat honey.)

    BLOOD BUILDER TONIC, MALARIA & ANEMIA
    Harvest black walnut leaves before the nuts form, make a tea from them. Drink 1 cupful 3 times a day.

    TONE UP THE SYSTEM & CIRCULATION (good for anyone tired and run-down for loss of appetite.)
    Gentian root (1 tsp.)
    Rocky Mountain grape root (1 tsp.)
    German chamomile (1 tsp.)
    Goldenseal (1 tsp.)
    Cascara bark (2 tbsp.)
    Place in well covered fruit jar. Shake to mix thoroughly. Steep 1 heaping tbsp. in 1 pint of boiling water, let stand until cold, strain and take 1/3 cupful 3 times per day.

    Yellow dock root

    HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
    Make a tea of Black Haw, sip about a pint of the tea during the day.

    Mistletoe (2 tsp.)
    Angelica root (2 tsp.)
    Bring to the boiling point in 1 pint of water, allow to cool. Drink 2 or 3 cups per day.

    TO IMPROVE APPETITE Boil a handful of Dogwood root bark in a quart of water. Boil to 1 pint, let stand for an hour, strain, and take 1 tbsp. 3 times a day.

    LOSS OF APPETITE, POOR COMPLEXION, HEALTH BUILDER
    Wahoo bark
    White oak
    Goldenseal
    Sarsaparilla
    Wild cherry bark
    Boneset
    Mix in equal parts. Boil 1/2 gallon of water and mixture, boil down to 1 quart and take 1 tbsp. with each meal and at bedtime.

    SPRING TONIC, IMPROVES APPETITE
    Pour boiling water over Wild Cherry Bark, Shell Hickory Bark, Prickly Ash Bark and Mullein. Let stand awhile and help yourself.

    Wild cherry (1 part)
    Red alder (1 part)
    Cedar (1 part)
    Pack it tightly in a pitcher and cover with hot water. Drink 4 to 5 cups during the day and 1 cupful at bedtime.

    Sassafras tea in the spring and Sulphur and Sorghum Molasses mixed into a pill in the fall. Take a pill each night.

    RELIEF OF BELCHING, INDIGESTION, RELIEF OF OLD AGE
    Gentian root (1 oz.)
    Colombo root (1 oz.)
    Skullcap herb (1/2 oz.)
    Pour 2 pints of cold water over the mixture and simmer gently for 20 minutes, let stand for a little while and strain. Drink a wineglassful 1 hour before each meal and 2 hours after the meal.

    SPRING TONIC
    Senna (2 tbsp.)
    Sarsaparilla bark (2 tbsp.)
    Boil in 1 quart of water. Very good for the tired feeling in the springtime.

    TONIC REMEDY
    Hickory bark (6 tsp.)
    Poplar bark (3 tsp.)
    Sweet gum bark (8 tsp.)
    Wahoo (8 tsp.)
    Sassafras (2 tsp.)
    Fringe tree (2 tsp.)
    Mix well, use 1 heaping tsp. in a cup of boiling water, take 3 times a day, a large mouthful at a time.

    Gentian root (1 oz.)
    Colombo (1 oz.)
    This mixture was placed in 5 gills of boiling water, reduced by boiling down to 4 gills, strained and given in doses of 1/2 wineglassful 3 times during the day.
