Crystal Forms and Habits: Orthorhombic system
     Crystals are commonly prismatic with nearly square cross sections.
     Crystals are often rounded.
     Cross sections of crystals have carbonaceous inclusions in a cross-patter: variety chiastolite.

Mineral Associations:  found in contact metamorphic shales
