Early Chemistry Industry - Agricola

Georgius Agricola (1494-1555) - Georg Bauer, wrote the most influential work on the nature of metals De re Metallica published at Basle in 1556. The publication was delayed somewhat due to the time taken to prepare the man woodcuts for which the book is renowned. This deals with mining, the extraction of metals from ores, smelting and working with metals. Book 10 deals with how the precious metals are parted from base metals.
