Early Chemistry Industry - Ercker

Lazarus Ercker (1528-1594) was the master of the mint in Dresden and Kutna Hora in Bohemia. He was the principal adviser om mining matters to Rudolph II. His book Aula subterranea domina dominatorum subdita subditorum. Das ist: untererdische Hofhaltung... Oder gründliche Beschreibung der jenigen Sachen, so in der Tieffe der Erden wachsen, 1572, contains a detailed description of the processes for extracting metals from their ores with many woodcuts. It was reprinted a number of times through into the mid 18th century,
