The earlier See also:part of his See also:life was spent in the pursuit of natural See also:history, his published See also:works in this See also:department including Le Reggae See also:animal (1756) and Ornithologie (176o). After the See also:death of R. A. F. See also:Reaumur (1683-1757), whose assistant he was, he abandoned natural history, and was appointed See also:professor of natural See also:philosophy at See also:Navarre and later at See also:Paris. His most important See also:work in this department was his Poids specifaques See also:des See also:corps (1787), but he published several other books on See also:physical subjects which were in considerable repute for a See also:time. He died at Croissy near Paris, on the 23rd of See also:June 1806.
