CARIBBEE ISLANDS , a name chiefly of See also:

historical importance, sometimes applied to the whole of the See also:West Indies, but strictly comprehending only the See also:chain of islands stretching from See also:Porto Rico to the See also:coast of See also:South See also:America. These are also known as the Lesser See also:Antilles, and the bulk of them are divided into the two See also:groups of the Leeward and Windward Islands.
