CONNELLITE , a rare See also:

mineral See also:species, a hydrous See also:copper chloro-sulphate, Cu15(Cl,OH)4SO16.15H2O, crystallizing in the hexagonal See also:system. It occurs as tufts of very delicate acicular crystals of a See also:fine See also:blue See also:colour, and is associated with other copper minerals of secondary origin, such as See also:cuprite and See also:malachite. Its occurrence in See also:Cornwall was noted by See also:Philip Rashleigh in 1802, and it was first examined chemically by See also:Arthur Connell in 1847. Outside Cornwall it has been found only in See also:Namaqualand in See also:South See also:Africa.
