town of See also:southern See also:France, in the See also:department of See also:Aveyron, 28 m. N.W. of See also:Rodez by See also:rail. Pop. (1906) town, 4988; See also:commune, 6953. The town is a See also:coal-See also:mining centre and has See also:cold See also:mineral springs, known in the See also:middle ages. There are See also:iron-mines in the neighbourhood. Hills to the See also:north of the town contain disused coal-mines which have been on See also:fire for centuries. About 5 M. to the See also:south is the See also:fine See also:Renaissance See also:chateau of Bournazel, built for the most See also:part by See also:Jean de See also:Buisson, See also:baron of Bournazel, about 1545. The See also:barony of Bournazel became a marquisate in 1624.
