CRUSTUMERIUM , an See also:ancient See also:town of See also:Latium, on the edge of the See also:Sabine territory, near the headwaters of the See also:Allia, not far from the See also:Tiber. It appears several times in the See also:early See also:history of See also:Rome, but was conquered in 500 B.C. according to See also:Livy ii. 19, the tribus Crustumina [or Crustumina] being formed in 471 B.C. See also:Pliny mentions it among the lost cities of Latium, but the name clung to the See also:district, the fertility of which remained famous.
