It is situated on the See also:Crow's See also:Nest See also:branch of the See also:Canadian Pacific railway, at the junction of See also:Coal See also:Creek with the See also:Elk `See also:river, and owes its importance to the extensive coal mines in its vicinity. There are about Soo See also:coke ovens in operation at Fernie, which See also:supply most of the smelting See also:plants in See also:southern British Columbia with See also:fuel.
