KANKER , a feudatory See also:

state of See also:India, within the Central Provinces; See also:area, 1429 sq. m.; pop. (1901), 103,536; estimated See also:revenue, £ro,000. It is a hilly See also:tract, containing the headwaters of the See also:Mahanadi. The extensive forests have recently been made profitable by the opening of a See also:branch railway. The See also:residence of the See also:raja, who is of an old See also:Rajput See also:family though ruling over Gonds, is at Kanker (pop. 3906).
