LOBE , any See also:

round projecting See also:part, specifically the See also:lower part of the See also:external See also:ear, one of the parts into which the See also:liver is divided, also one of several parts of the See also:brain, divided by marked fissures (see LIVER and BRAIN). The See also:Greek XoOor, from which "lobe " is derived, was applied to the lobe of the ear and of the liver, and to the pod of a leguminous plant.
