MARIANAO , a See also:city of the See also:province of See also:Havana, See also:Cuba, 6 m. W. by S. of the city of Havana, with which it is connected by the Marianao railway. Pop. (1899), 5416; (1907), 9332. Marianao is on a range of hills about 1500 ft. above the See also:sea, is noted for its salubrious See also:climate, and is mainly a See also:place of See also:residence for the families of prosperous business men of Havana. On the neighbouring See also:coast is Marianao See also:Beach, a popular bathing resort. The city See also:dates from about 1830.
