MUNIMENT , a word chiefly used in the plural, as a collective See also:

term for the documents, charters, See also:title-deeds, &c. See also:relating to the See also:property, rights and privileges of a See also:corporation, such as a See also:college, a See also:family or private See also:person, and kept as " evidences " for defending the same. Hence the See also:medieval usage of the word munimentum, in classical Latin, a See also:defence, fortification, from munire, to defend.
