cotton See also:cloth originally made in See also:China, and now imitated in various countries. The name is derived from See also:Nanking, the See also:city in which the cloth is said to have been originally manufactured. The characteristic yellowish See also:colour of nankeen is attributed to the See also:peculiar colour of the cotton from which it was originally made.
