PAEMYSL , the reputed ancestor of the See also:

line of See also:dukes and See also:kings which ruled in Bohemia from 873 or earlier until the See also:murder of See also:Wenceslaus III. in 1306, and which was known as the Pfemyslide See also:dynasty. According to See also:legend Pfemysl was a See also:peasant of Staditz who attracted the See also:notice of Libussa, daughter of a certain Krok, who ruled over a large See also:part of Bohemia, and is said to have been descended from Samo. Pfemysl married Libussa, the traditional•foundress of See also:Prague,vand during the 8th See also:century became See also:prince of the Bohemian Cechs. His See also:family became See also:extinct when Wenceslaus III. died, but through See also:females the See also:title to Bohemia passed from the Pfemyslides to the See also:house of See also:Luxemburg and later to the house of See also:Habsburg.
