PALAMCOTTAH , a See also:

town of See also:British See also:India, in the See also:Tinnevelly See also:district of See also:Madras, on the opposite See also:bank of the Tambraparni See also:river to Tinnevelly town, with which it shares a station on-the See also:South See also:Indian railway, 444 M. south of Madras. Pop. (1901), 39,545• It is the administrative headquarters of the district, and also the See also:chief centre of See also:Christian See also:missions in south India. Among many educational institutions may be mentioned the Sarah See also:Tucker See also:College for See also:Women, founded in 1895.
