She was a genuine See also:infant See also:prodigy, composing verses when only eight years, and a five-See also:act See also:comedy at eleven. In 1646 the See also:influence of her See also:brother converted her to See also:Jansenism. In 1652, she took the See also:veil, despite the strong opposition of her brother, and subsequently was largely instrumental in the latter's own final See also:conversion. She vehemently opposed the See also:attempt to compel the assent of the nuns to the Papal bulls condemning Jansenism, but was at last compelled to yield her own. This See also:blow, however, hastened her See also:death, which occurred at See also:Paris on the 4th of October 1661.
