PEIRESKIA ACULEATA , or Barbadoes See also:

gooseberry, the See also:Cactus peireskia of See also:Linnaeus, differs from the See also:rest in having woody stems and See also:leaf-bearing branches, the leaves being somewhat fleshy, but otherwise of the See also:ordinary laminate See also:character. The See also:flowers are subpaniculate, See also:white or yellowish. This See also:species is frequently used as a stock on which to See also:graft other Cacti. There are about a dozen species known of this genus, mainly Mexican.
